Size:
1500m² including basement

Project Value:
R13 Million

Sector:
Commercial

Client:
National Economic Development and Labour Council

Location:
Rosebank, Johannesburg, South Africa

Tasked with submitting a design proposal at tender stage, HLM Africa won the commission to refurbish the conservative, dated and claustrophobic offices of state institution NEDLAC.

The refurbishment sought to transform the offices into a vibrant and flexible working environment. Enclosed offices were substituted for open plan layouts, which greatly enhanced the natural light quality inside the building. Layouts were reviewed and optimised to provide additional breakout space whilst accommodating the same number of staff. By carefully reviewing the position of the reception desk, the entire main entrance was transformed into a welcoming space befitting its corporate nature. HLM Africa further facilitated the rezoning of rights to include the existing loft area into usable office space.
